3. REFLECTION

3.1 Experience

This module for me started on quite a high note. I was slightly nervous, seeing as I've gone through this module once but failed. Additionally, I was in a room full of people I don't know which added to my anxiety. Throughout the first few weeks though, I was able to be at the same pace as almost everyone in the class. Mr. Vinod managed to guide me through the first task smoothly too. But for reasons even I feel are out-of-character for me, I started to slip a bit off the path, again. It's something I regretfully let happen and it most definitely affected my performance negatively for the following weeks.

3.2 Observations

During the 14 weeks, I became more aware of the typography around me. Whether it be as normal as skincare packaging or as underrated as the typography of the road signages in KL, all intrigued me to my designer core. Being more aware has led to me appreciating the hard work and thought put through each and every design that has ever existed.

3.3 Findings

This module showed me how important being creative yet also being good at the practicalities of working in typography. My understanding of how much trial and error is needed has now reached a new level; of which, I'm still quite an amateur in.

I hope to use this module as a stepping stone for me to learn from its successes and also its mistakes.
